By Gerardo Granados: Next September 13th at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A.; Referee Kenny Bayless will be responsible to make the fighters obey the rules and it might not be an easy job for him or any other referee. Bayless is an experienced referee and has been in charge of many big fights. To the pressure of fight fans who will be watching, you can add the economical side of the bout that a big Pay Per View event can bring.

Referee Bayless must take control of the actions since the first bell ring otherwise the fight could get spoiled just as Referee´s Vic Drakulich and Pat Russell respectively did on the Diego Chaves vs Brandon Rios and Kell Brook vs Shawn Porter bouts.

On their first fight, both Mayweather Jr and Maidana play it rough, but Chino did surpass Money´s dirty tactics. He even raised his knee with the intention to hit Floyds groin as the reader must remember. Referee Tony Weeks allowed both fighters to fight and paid little attention to Floyd´s constant complaints.

So far Bayless has been involved in four of Floyd´s fights, against: Canelo Alvarez, Shane Mosley, Oscar De la Hoya and Roberto Apodaca (Mayweather Jr pro debut). Kenny has been the referee in one fight for Chino versus Jesus Soto Karass in which he deducted two points to Maidana for hitting on the break and one to Soto for the same reason.

Kenny is a patient referee but he has disqualified a fighter in the past; once he warned Bobby Pacquiao ten times deducting two points before disqualify him in the tenth round for constant low blows. I doubt this time referee Bayless will need to disqualify Floyd or Chino but he might have to take a point if the fighters fail to abbey the rules, which in the end could get to make a difference.

Both Mayweather Jr and Maidana are no angels inside the ring. They are not dirty but for sure know a pair of dirty tricks and the referee will have his hands full, even more with trainer Robert Garcia urging Maidana to fight dirty and make it a street fight. To be a referee is not an easy job and you can bet the corners won’t be please even if the referee does his job right.
As for the fight, I´ll place my bet on Mayweather Jr to win by Split Decision. I wonder if this time he will have the same face expression he had when the score cards were announced, I bet the reader remember that odd expression Floyd had while the winner was announced.

Will referee Bayless hesitate to deduct a point or even worst to disqualify Floyd? If Bayless deducts a point to Maidana early on the fight, will this affect Chino´s performance or will fight fans think he is favoring Money? We will know the answer next September 13th. But, do the readers think referee Kenny Bayless job will satisfy us all?
