dirrell445By Scott Gilfoid: Fighting for the first time in 18 months, super middleweight Andre Dirrell (22-1, 15 KOs) stopped the normally steel chinned Vladine Biosse (15-5-2, 7 KOs) in the 5th round on Friday night at the Little Creek Casino Resort, in Shelton, Washington, USA.

Dirrell teed off on Biosse with uppercuts and huge combinations in the 5th until the referee Jeff Macaluso had no other choice but to halt the fight at 2:45 the round.

The hand speed was just too much for Biosse tonight. When look at how much trouble highly hyped Callum Smith had in beating Biosse last month and compare it to how well Dirrell looked tonight, it was like night and day. Dirrell looked so much better against Biosse than Smith that it was scary and kind of sad at the same time. I mean, it was sad if you’re a Smith fan because Dirrell is at another level in terms of talent.

After the fight, Dirrell said “My first target is Carl Froch. I want Carl Froch. If I had Carl in the ring today, I would have done the job. I’m crushing anybody that gets in my way.”

I have to agree with Dirrell about him beating Froch if he were in the ring with Dirrell tonight instead of Biosse. Dirrell not only looked sharp tonight, he looked better than he was when he fought Froch in 2009. Dirrell is punching harder, and he’s a lot more mature than when he fought Froch. He’s just so much better than he was for that fight, and I don’t think it would even be a good fight. Dirrell is too young, too fast, and too talented for Froch.

I doubt that Froch will get even 2000 miles from a talent like Dirrell because he’s got the ability to do a number on Froch and wreck his dreams of fighting Julio Cesar Chaves Jr.
