By Chris Williams: Last night, Showtime aired the first episode of the All Access: Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 series at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. It was one of the best All Access episodes that Showtime has ever produced in my opinion. The imagery, the clothes, and even the anger involved were just perfect for the Mayweather-Maidana 2 rematch on September 13th.

Boxing fans got a chance to see Mayweather in his huge mansion in Las Vegas, Nevada, surrounded by beautiful women. Mayweather talked about his upcoming Showtime pay-per-view bout, and discussed a little bit about his previous fight against Maidana, a fight that Mayweather won by a 12 round decision.

Mayweather talked about how some people don’t like him because they can’t live like him with his opulent life style with the most beautiful things that money can buy.

“If he’s so upset with me, then do something about it on September 13th,” Mayweather said on All Access: Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 episode 1. “I do what I want to do, when I want to do, and how I want to do. Let’s get it by any means. I know a lot of people are upset because they can’t live like me. Hold up, I was born at night, but I wasn’t born last night. I am Mr. Boxing. Mr. my life is the [expletive], Mr. Money man. Mr. I’m getting it, Mr. Best of the best, and crème de la crème. The world can be against me, but I’m going to continue to win.”

Maidana came across as kind of jaded during the episode, like he was disgruntled because he didn’t get the decision last time. Maidana says he plans on knocking Mayweather out in the rematch, but unless he ups his game considerably, he might as well forget about it.

“Nobody is going to knock me off this throne,” Mayweather said. “I’m going to stay at the top and do what I want to do, however I want to and say what I want to. They think I’m good. I know I’m great.

Maidana’s trainer Robert Garcia still believes that Maidana would have beaten Mayweather last May if only he had fought a little harder and only if he’d been in better shape. Garcia came across as someone who looks back too much on things that have already happened instead of looking forward to what the real possibilities are. It’s too late to fight the last battle. Mayweather won that one.

“No one expected Chino to do what he did, to almost beat the best on the planet. I think we’ll be better off in the rematch. So what he did in the first half of the fight, we’re going to do it for 12 rounds and it’s going to be a nightmare for Mayweather.”

Well, more power to Maidana and Garcia if they can do that in the rematch, but Maidana has never had great stamina during his career, ever. For him to suddenly improve in the stamina department at age 31, I just don’t see it happening. Is it possible? Yes, but I think we would have already seen Maidana’s stamina improve in the past if this was something that could actually be changed with more training.
