By Chris Williams: Chris Algieri (20-0, 8 KOs) is pretty excited about his 6-city press tour that will get underway this Monday in Macao, China. Algieri and WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KOs) will trave27,000 miles in trying to sell their November 22nnd pay-per-view fight from the Venetian® Macao’s Cotai Arena.

The Pacquiao-Algieri fight isn’t expected to bring in a lot of PPV buys, but Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, the promoter for the 35-year-old Pacquiao, seems to already know that. He believes he’ll make up the difference in the site fee and with the money the fight brings in on pay-per-view in China.

Arum has put two-time Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming on the card. Shiming, a flyweight contender, is the only fight on the card right now. Arum needs to really load the card up if he wants to make up for what it lacks in fan interest in the main event. Just where Shiming’s place will be on the card is the big question.

Arum will be taking a huge risk if he chooses to put Shiming in as the co-feature bout, because he’s not well known enough in the U.S with casual boxing fans for him to help bring in PPV buys. But then again, Arum feels that boxing fans don’t care about undercard fights. So it’s definitely possible that all Arum will have for the co-feature is flyweight Zou Shiming vs. whoever he can dig up for him to fight.

Algieri says he’s doing a lot of visualization about the press tour. He plans on doing the same thing in thinking through the fight with Pacquiao and guessing what he’s going to do next.

Algieri doesn’t really need to waste time thinking about it, because Pacquiao fights the same way each time he fights. He’s going to use angles and come forward in a hurry to throw a combination and then back out to keep from getting hit. The only time Pacquiao throws sustained flurries is when his opponents backup to the ropes and cover up. Tim Bradley made this mistake when he fought Pacquiao last April.
