Mayweather says he wants knock Maidana out to make sure he’s not still standing afterwards so that he can make a fuss by complaining and saying he should have won the fight. Mayweather wants to make sure that there is no doubt who the better man is on September 13th. If Maidana to complain to anyone in this fight, it’s going to be to the referee for stopping the fight. Mayweather wants to leave no questions after the fight.

Mayweather has another reason for wanting to KO Maidana after yesterday’s face off at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. When Mayweather was trying to get near Maidana for a traditional face off, Maidana shoved Mayweather hard in the chest. Mayweather then shoved Maidana back hard sending him backwards several steps. Moments later, Maidana walked up to Mayweather and shoved him again without warning despite the fact that Mayweather was at least two feet away from him at the time.

Mayweather isn’t used to fighters putting their hands on him when he’s doing what all fighters do during face offs by crowding his opponents. But if Maidana is going to put hands on Mayweather each time they get near each other, then this could make things more complicated because there’s going to need to be security staff around to make sure that no fists are thrown.

“We going for the knockout,” Mayweather said. “Absolutely,” as quoted by RingTV.

It’s rare that Mayweather comes looking for a knockout nowadays because he likes to keep the fans entertained by letting them see as much of him as possible by watching him easily out-box his opponents in winning by 120-108 margins on the scorecards, but this time it’s different. Mayweather wants to clown Maidana, school him, and then knock him out in that order.

Maidana putting hands on Mayweather is the final straw that broke the camel’s back. Now he’s going to get the full Mayweather treatment on September 13th. Mayweather isn’t going to play nice anymore by giving Maidana a handicap for his slow hand speed and limited ability to move around the ring.

.“Most of the time I make A- or B-level fighters look like C- or D-level,” Mayweather said. “Finally a guy put up a cool effort. [Maidana] put up a cool effort and now everyone is saying ‘Oh, we haven’t seen Floyd like this. But it’s going to be a total different night. As far as the referee, he’s going to be totally strict this time.”

It’ going to be interesting to see what happens in this fight with Mayweather turning it up a couple of notches. If he goes after Maidana’s body early in this fight with a serious body attack, we could see this fight end as early as the 4th round, because Maidana has problems handling body shots. He was hurt by Amir Khan, Josesito Lopez and by the shots Mayweather was hitting him with last May in their previous fight.
