By Scott Gilfoid: Former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (29-3, 19 KO’s) was reportedly arrested earlier this morning on Friday after allegedly assaulting two teens on the street in Bolton.

Khan and a couple of teens argued early in the morning while on the street, and that’s when the alleged assault took place, according to the Manchestereveningnews.co.uk. The police then arrived on the scene where they discovered that two 19-year-old teenagers had been assaulted. The 27-year-old Khan was then taken away on suspicion of assault of the teens. The facts are still unclear of who hit who. All that’s known is that both teens were allegedly assaulted by Khan.

Khan was booked in the local police station, questioned, and then later he was released after someone posted bail on his behalf.

A police spokesman said via the Manchestereveningnews “Just before 1:30 a.m. on Friday, police were called following reports of an assault in Bolton. Officers attended Russell Street and discovered two 19-year-old men had been assaulted. Their injuries are not serious. A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two section 47 assaults.”

One has to hope that Khan doesn’t have any of this go against his record, because it might be a problem potentially in the future in terms of him traveling to the United States for fights. If he can’t come to the U.S for fights, it would hurt Khan’s ability to get stars like Floyd Mayweather Jr to fight him, because Mayweather likely wouldn’t be too excited about having to travel outside of the U.S to fight Khan in the UK or some other foreign country. Khan wouldn’t have a problem for a fight against Manny Pacquiao, because they would likely stage that fight in Macao, China, but you don’t know how China would take to having someone with a criminal record coming to their country.
