pac7848By Alon Calinao Dy: In many contests, the ultimate winner is the one who fights anybody, and is not afraid to lose in a competitive fight. Not so for Marquez and Mayweather Jr. despite the fact that they have the defensive styles that would make the fight difficult for Pacquiao. I don’t know, but these boxers have big worries that they might not have enough strength and determination to beat the Filipino congressman.

They have displayed their vulnerabilities when Marquez did not win against Bradley and Mayweather was having a tough fight against the brawler Marcos Maidana, which brought panics to their fans in their respective countries.

On the other hand, brave Pacquiao has experienced all the beatings in the past due to his aggressive nature. He has fans in many parts of the world rooting hard for him for the reason that he is an exciting fighter and is dominating many challenges in the sweet science. With his great confidence, he suffered a knockout defeat from Marquez, but still in the hearts of his fans till now he ends up winning it all.

Actually, Pacquiao is no stranger since he is already into the limelight in front of millions of boxing fans around the globe. He has fought Marquez for several times because everyone wanted to see their series of fight. Although it was a very close fight, Pacquiao, as expected, respected all the decisions from the judges. Unlike Marquez, he has all the alibis and always blamed Pacquiao for cheating him even though the final say was not coming from him. At that moment, I’ve realized Marquez was ducking the Filipino boxing champ.

Yes, in many occasions, we’ve heard Mayweather talking about Pacquiao but he is not actually challenging him for a bout, especially when he has to promote his fight or when his fight with another boxer is near approaching. I don’t know if Floyd is there for the hype only or just envious for all the achievements of Pacquiao since he was named “Fighter of the decade” by different boxing organizations. Of course, the selection did not matter whether a boxer has loss or not, but it was his best qualities to face all his adversaries in boxing.

Despite Pacquiao’s greatness in boxing, the complaining Marquez is ducking Pacquiao till now, telling everyone that he is the biggest obstacle for the eight-division world champ. The Mexican veteran boxer has been vocal about his win against Pacquiao even though lots of people believed that he was just lucky that day. I guess whether it was a stroke of luck or not, I do believe that the next time around would make all the difference. This is the reason why Marquez has no intention to go for a fifth bout despite a big offer for him by his promoter.

At the end of the day, boxing fans do not mind who is ducking Pacquiao whether it is Marquez or Mayweather Jr. for as long as they have the guts to fight him toe-to-toe. I and others are convinced about Pacquiao’s sincerity when he says that he is willing to fight anyone in the ring including Marquez and Floyd Mayweather Jr. We all know that Pacquiao is highly competitive athlete and is ready to fight for the fans who love and support boxing.
