mayweather565IN A LITTLE OVER 48 HOURS Floyd Mayweather Jr. will find out whether it was right to call his new symphony “The Moment” or whether he should have called it “The Mistake” in his fight against Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Most people, including Mayweather Jr. agree, that his masterpiece carries the right title because it will be a perfect symphony in which all instruments, guided by master musicians, will deliver sublime sounds to create the most exquisite music that will elevate him as the ultimate composer of his era.

It’s pretty obvious that Showtime has delivered so far and will deliver during and after the fight, the commentators won’t be too harsh, the cameras will show his best profile. The fans have already bought their tickets and have already decided whether they will or not buy the PPV. The MGM has delivered and will continue to accommodate Floyd’s every wish for fear of losing their main customer. The stage is set and every actor in the play has been given its role; the only question that remains is: will they all play?

In his mind, Floyd has given Maidana a script that he expects El Chino to follow. El Chino must come out swinging and must land some serious punches with the right degree of power. This will get the fans excited and Marcos tired and, just when everybody starts believing that El Chino will create the biggest upset in the history of boxing, Floyd will change gears and knock him out. The script also says Marcos must be slow and flat-footed and telegraph his punches.

Will Marcos “El Chino” Maidana play his role? Will he be the soloist that Floyd dreams of or will he be his worst nightmare? Will he be the Sonny Liston on the canvass with “Mayweather” towering over him daring him to get up?

The image of Maidana that Floyd has in his mind is just that, an image, something imaginary with no substance. In a little over 48 hours, imagination will meet reality; the imagined punches don’t hurt, the real ones do. ” The Moment” cannot be for two; it’s only for one. For the other it’s “The Mistake” Will it have been Floyd”s or El Chino’s?
