Biggest Boxing card History

By Jon Ingram: Let’s be honest, to hit the lottery with Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr, he has to want to fight you. It’s been proven by a lot of boxers interested with stepping in the ring with him, and that they all say “I don’t know, he’s his own business man. He chooses who he wants to fight”. Everyone knows that Floyd is all about his money, (look at his nickname). What if someone proposed to him a deal that would make him happy, his fans happy, and help save the sport that he loves so much.

Mayweather alone could single handily save boxing by ending the cold war between all of the promotions. Choosing to put aside all egos for the sake of history that would never be forgotten could be done from all sides. Mayweather could go down as an Icon of boxing, maybe not in the same way as Jackie Robinson, or Ali, but he would definitely have an impact on boxing that would mean more to the fans, the sport of boxing then just an undefeated record. He would change boxing for the good of the fans, and for boxers in the present, the future, and hopefully forever.

Putting together the biggest fight card in the history of the sport could be done by Floyd choosing to say “OK I will fight Manny Pacquiao”. For this history boxing card to happen though would have to be Floyd’s first fight next year. He would have two fights left on his contract. With Floyd fighting Manny on this card, he could have both Shawn Porter and Keith Thurman on the under cards. By next year, Danny Garcia would have finally moved up to 147, so he could challenge either Porter or Thurman, and throw a catch weight fight between the winner of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Erislandy Lara to challenge the fighter who doesn’t fight Danny Garcia. Also since there would only be Pacquiao from the Top Rank promotion fighting, I would suggest throwing Timothy Bradley against the likes of maybe Marcos Maidana.

If there was ever an event that was higher than PPV, this would be the event. Could you imagine the money that would happen this magical night? It would be the biggest fight night by far, in the history of the sport.

With Mayweather having one fight left after the Pacquiao fight, he would either have the choice to rematch Pacquiao, or take on the most exciting opponent of his choice, from the under card, and Mayweather would be remembered as the one who saved boxing forever.

Floyd, do you want to be a remembered as a great boxer who was really good at what you did, or do you want to be mentioned with the greats? You would be remembered for the one who made the “Biggest Boxing card History” possible.
