Why doesn’t Mayweather get the props he’s earned?

mayweather555By Reddy Red: The WBC and WBA Ring magazine champ at 154, the WBC and Ring magazine champ at 147, USA bronze medalist and soon to be WBA at 147 also mega superstar boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. All I can do is give props where it’s needed. Yes, I’m a fan of his but overall I am a fan of the sweet science, it’s my sport of choice and the only sport I follow on an everyday bases.

This website is my favorite also, thanks to many writers and fans I view it daily also, but one thing that’s got me is, I have never seen an article that has simply put the #1 fighter or the best we’ve seen, in his rightful place! We’re talking a person that’s been in this sport for 18 years, and no matter what he’s done for the sport itself, backlash is attached to his name, may it be media, fans or fighter. Me personally, I see it as the same when Michael Jordan was about to leave the NBA.

Mayweather’s at the end of his career and I’m sad to see it coming. It’s a shame that all of us can’t honor Mayweather for what he is, the best to ever do it! Sure it’s been great fighters of the past that paved the way for him to be who he is today, but business wise, fighting wise and marketing wise Mayweather has opened other doors for fighters now and fighters to come after.

Trendsetter, leader we’re witnessing something that we might not see again in our lifetime or period, and all I ever read about him is hate or someone down playing his accomplishments and what he brings to the sport like this is something of the norm we’re seeing? It’s not folks, and as soon as he leaves the sport we’ll understand just what he meant to it, we as humans never love anything for real until it’s too late! But to remind he’s the greatest of our time at least, Mayweather’s 20-0 against world champions, 22-0 in title fights and lands 47% percent of his punches to 16% percent of punches thrown at him for a plus 30% plus/minus ratio something that no fighter has ever done in 45 professional fights and never will.

All I want to do his remind or open fans minds up, because we may never get another actual void filler, and to fans that like or don’t like Floyd, just give props where it’s do, because when Jordan was in the league, their wasn’t another player that anyone would ever stay was better or even close to him hands down whether they liked him or not. And for the sweet science Floyd (Money) Mayweather should be held at the same standard period!
