Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2: Earthquakes will happen on Saturday night

pac0001By Yannis Mihanos: The time for the highly anticipated rematch between Manny Pacquiao and WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley is almost here. In a few hours the weigh in will take place and thousands of followers from both sides have already gathered at the MGM Grand Las Vegas Nevada and wait to give their warm support.

People’s favorite champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao (55-5-2) is the favorite to win this match, and everybody in the boxing world still expect him to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr., as no one sees other opponent capable enough to threaten the No.1 pound-for-pound king with defeat, but to do that he must first overcome a few obstacles. First, Pacquiao must beat Tim “Desert Storm” Bradley.

Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) appears very muscularly developed for this fight and hopes that this extra strength will intimidate Pacquiao.

In the build up for the fight, Bradley has said that Pacquiao lost his killer instinct, and he believes that the 35-year-old Pacquiao is just a shell of his old self. Pacquiao laughs with all these claims and seems ready for the fight.

In the aftermath of the first fight in 2012, they both experienced some negative reactions from boxing fans. In my eyes they were both victims: Pacquiao felt betrayed by the judges, while Bradley felt like a lucky loser. Bradley also received threats afterwards from angry fans.

But that’s what happened in the past. Hopefully this time we will get some closure and something more: Earthquakes will happen. I am pretty sure that somebody will hit the canvas at least one time on Saturday night. If Bradley goes for it and stands toe-to-toe with Pacquiao, he will definitely be the first one to fall. In a toe-to-toe war, Bradley has no chance in exchanging punches with Pacquiao. He is no Juan Manuel Marquez, either.

Against Ruslan Provodnikov in 2013, Bradley was lucky to escape with a victory after getting knocked down in the 12th round by the hard hitting Provodnikov.

If Pacquiao gets careless on Saturday night and rushes for the knockout against Bradley, he may also become vulnerable and hit the canvas .So I believe this fight has all the elements of a big fight. Just make sure dear readers and fans to take all precautions for an earthquake because I think there will be a big one coming.
