Pacquiao beats Bradley and proves that he’s back

bradley356By Power VCT: First off, congrats to both Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO’s) and Tim Bradley (31-1, 12 KO’s) for a very good entertaining fight last night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao won by a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores 116-112, 116-112, and 118-110. In my honest opinion, I scored the bout a draw and I don’t agree with the spread of the judges, but I understand boxing and politics.

Now Pacquiao and Bradley are linked into the rematch at some point in the future, as Jim Lampley elaborated on last night. Hopefully the third fight will take place this September of 2014. The bad part of last night’s Pacquiao-Bradley fight is, again, in my honest opinion neither fighter has what it takes to defeat “Pretty Boy” Floyd “Money” Mayweather (45-0, 26 KO’s).

Neither Bradley (31-1 nor Pacquiao seemed extremely sharp last night, and I viewed two fighters with a talent level that did not appear pound for pound (P4P) worthy on either side. Both of these fighters landed POWER shots, pot shots and both were equally kept off balanced; nevertheless Pacquiao maintained his edge of aggression all night. What has me scratching my head today is why Bradley quit his attack on the body early in the fight causing PACMAN to go into a shell.

With Pacquiao becoming aggressive throughout the fight, I don’t have any complaints about him getting the nod, but as I mentioned a few weeks ago, the rematch is inevitable. At this point, there again is no reason for any fan to get themselves worked-up for Pacquiao to face Mayweather anytime soon because if that happens then Pacquiao may have to give up his belt to chase Mayweather, if there isn’t any legal reasons why Bradley can’t avenge his first loss immediately. I hope Bradley demands the rematch unless other championships fight options open up for both.

My scoring notes: When Bradley made Pacquiao fight off his heels, he controlled Emmanuel and when Bradley waited for counters, Pacquiao controlled that portion of the bout and I scored it (6) rounds for both.

Rounds: (P) 2,7,8,9,10,12

Rounds: (B) 1,3,4,5, 6, 11

My last thought: Please be advised as a true boxing fan, Pacquiao has DONE what is needed to face Mayweather right now. Pacquiao has a great quality win in a CHAMPIONSHIP bout that immediately qualifies him to face either Mayweather, Shawn Porter, Keith Thurman at 147lbs and since Pacquiao weighed in at 151lbs, there is NO EXCUSE why he can’t also face Mayweather at junior middleweight for the belt, so I hope everyone paid attention to those weights of BOTH fighters on the day of the match. Pacquiao can also move his options to face Erislandy Lara, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez or Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade at 154lbs as well.

Now if you are a one-sided fan, your wishes came true and your nightmare COULD have just begun. We ALL will know more on the events to come after Derby Day of 2014.

By the way Manny and Jinkee, peace and many blessing to the new additional of your family expected at any time.
