By M.Malik: It surprises me to read that many are giving Timothy Bradley a fair chance at winning the fight tonight. Yes, Manny Pacquiao is past his prime, and he hasn’t looked amazing since beating Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto. But to suggest that Timothy Bradley stands a chance against Manny Pacquiao is simply absurd. Don’t get me wrong, I like Timothy Bradley, and I think he is a very good fighter. He’s got heart, and he shows up to fight, but he is just not in Manny Pacquiao’s class.
Manny Pacquiao has no one to blame but himself for taking his foot off the accelerator in their first encounter. Then again, who would have thought in their right mind that the judges were scoring the fight in Timothy Bradley’s favor? Timothy Bradley is good at many things, but he doesn’t do anything special. Manny Pacquiao at this point in his career is still levels above him. Timothy Bradley tried to go toe to toe with Ruslan Provodnikov and almost got knocked out.
He had to resort to running to scrap a win. And now he is talking about knocking Manny Pacquiao out! The first fight proved that Timothy Bradley was just there to survive. After getting the decision, we started hearing his list of excuses: how he was fighting on two bad feet, how the decision to not wear socks backfired. Those who are giving him a chance because of his win against Juan Manual Marquez are in for a shock. That was a close fight, but let’s not forget, Marquez was on the verge of getting knocked out by Manny Pacquiao before connecting with that lucky punch.
Timothy Bradley’s win against Juan Manuel Marquez didn’t prove much, and Timothy Bradley will find out that he was better off admitting he lost the first fight against Manny Pacquiao. I believe, we will see a determined and motivated Manny Pacquiao tonight. Not the one that seemed more concern with the basketball game during their first fight.
In fact, he refused to come out of his room until the game was over. Manny Pacquiao knows his career is on the line, and he has to make a statement if he wants to remain a PPV star. I am predicting a win for Manny Pacquiao by Knockout. Timothy Bradley will hit the canvas before round 5, and I do not think the fight will go past 8 rounds.
