Pound-for-Pound List

By Jarrette: I would like to hear everyone’s opinion on their top 5 P4P list. There have been a good number of new or lesser named people emerging some with a very impressive resume full of champions and some with a few fights and questionable competition. With that being said I will list my own top 5 P4P.

  1. Floyd Mayweather – I’m not ashamed to say I’m a fan of Floyd’s . With his resume of knocking off other p4p fighters and moving up to 154 to steal belts from bigger younger opponents. Beating Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Robert Guerrero in one calendar year easily keeps him locked at my number one spot.
  2. Timothy Bradley – I know a lot of people discredit him but as of right now how can you argue different. He beat Manny Pacquiao officially so it is what it is. He also had a war with Siberian Rocky and showed a lot of heart and skills to out point him for the win. He made Juan Manuel Marquez look old and slow in their last fight and nobody’s done that since Mayweather.
  3. Andre Ward – I’ll start by saying I’m hesitant to put award here because of the skill of his competition and inactivity. I think he easily could move to number two on my list if he would just be more active and fight the likes of Gennady “GGG” Golovkin or Julio Chavez Jr to validate his resume. His skills are unquestionable but so far not enough done in my book.
  4. Manny Pacquiao – I’m a Manny fan too but he has slipped due to his KO loss to Marquez and not being able to take a 135 lb fighter in Brandon Rios and knock him out granted he fought two times previously at 140 he physically looks like he hasn’t filled his frame out with virtually no muscle tone. Manny could jump up to my number two if gets passed Bradley in April.

Guillermo Rigondeaux – With few fights but as of recent very good competition he has looked unstoppable by out smarting, maneuvering, and avoiding any punishment at all. I surely thought when he fought Nonito Donaire that Nonito would of won with my pro experience and destroying his opponents. Rigondeaux easily schooled Nonito been though he was dropped once in the fight. With Rigo fighting with Top Rank it’s disappointing they don’t pusg him for greatness. With that he could easily fall off my p4p list by lack of good opponents in the near future or on the contrary could sky rocket if he could land some marquee wins.

Honrable Mention – GGG & Canelo
