Manny Pacquiao: Victory is all that matters

pac746By Yannis Mihanos: This morning I watched on You Tube, HBO’S Manny Pacquiao – Tim Bradley Face off with Max Kellerman. It’s duration was short, about 6 minutes but it was enough to notice a few things.

First thing that I noticed was that Pacquiao seemed uncomfortable with the presence of Bradley. Then I heard Bradley go on and say that he has watched again the tape of the fight and that he is sure that he won 8 out of the 12 rounds.

That made me laugh. Any person with decent eyesight who watched that fight, saw Pacquiao winning by a wide margin. It was a mismatch. The world of Boxing was cheated that day. At the post interview I remember seeing a wreckage Bradley making excuses for not moving swiftly because of his ankle foot injury.

So to hear Bradley saying that he won, that showed me that the person is still in denial; he is still living a lie. That showed me a lack of character. That’s a pity because I respect him as a prizefighter.

Real men don’t hide from the truth, real men make no excuses. I also heard Bradley once again saying into Pacquiao’s face that he has lost his killer instinct.

Again, great fighters don’t lose the killer instinct. This is one of the few things that can’t be lost by anyone of them at any age, anytime.

Right now Pacquiao knows that victory is all that matters. For the big showdown against Floyd Mayweather Jr to happen, Pacquiao must make no more mistakes.

Bradley hopes that by insulting and instigating Pacquiao will make him lose his temper and come out in the fight desperate for a quick knockout to prove that he is still great.

But make no mistake, Pacquiao has already learned the hard way. That painful knockout at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012 has taught him a lot. Now he knows that being reckless and desperate in a fight is not the plan. Victory is all that matters.
