Manny Pacquiao: Knockout is the answer

pac4By Yannis Mihanos: Since stopping by a way of knockout Miguel Cotto in November of 2009, Manny Pacquiao hasn’t be able to win the same way again.  A controversial defeat by Tim Bradley that only the judges saw, a close victory by points against Juan Manuel Marquez and a famous knockout defeat by the same opponent in December of 2012.

Coming back almost a year later against Brandon Rios it was obvious that Pacquiao didn’t want to take big risks. He just out-boxed cleverly his opponent in each round and that was enough.

Facing for a second time Bradley, nobody can expect again a controversial decision but then again you can never be sure in boxing.

Back at the Wild Card Gym, Pacquiao is training as hard as never before. He is the favorite to win the fight even if Bradley proved himself as an excellent fighter in his last 2 fights against Rulan Provodnikov and Marquez.

I am sure Pacquiao in the back of his mind, knows that to win this fight will need something more than a unanimous decision, a victory by the way of a knockout will be his best choice.

In the first press conference Bradley joked about Pacquiao’s lost killer instinct. When you have won in a way that you shouldn’t, at least you should choose to remain quiet.

Instigating even more Pacquiao and the fans will only make things worse. Bradley remains unbeaten but records are meant to be broken with one way or another.

On April 12 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, we will all know the definite answer.
