mayweather2323By Yannis Mihanos: Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26 KO’s) is the gold machine, the cash cow, the money maker. Nobody can deny that. He is the most successful fighter in the money business of boxing .The numbers don’t lie. After signing with Showtime/CBS his  popularity has continued going from strength to strength and his earnings too. Throughout his career has fought and beaten many title holders in various categories and his record remains spotless at 45-0.

Even if he’s been accused for cherry picking opponents, the fact remains that Floyd Mayweather is the number 1 most profitable fighter in boxing, hands down.

Many times people associate richness with corruption and bad character. Mayweather in not an exception to that rule, too many also see him as  villain.

In the 24/7 series of HBO and now in the new series of Showtime, I have seen him often going over the top with his urge for big spending: squandering money here and there in presents, bets and elsewhere. Many people and me at times don’t like watching this and this is why so many people tend to hate him.

But there is also another thing about him that nobody can doubt: “this money” he earned it with his hard work and  skills.

Hard work can take you somewhere but let alone can’t take you far. Now try to combine hard work with skills and you ‘ve got an irresistible combination. Mayweather has this combination to the maximum and so he remains at the top of  his game.

Today it was decided the venue that the big fight will take place and I wasn’t surprised at all. Where else than where money flows? MGM Grand Garden Arena,  Las  Vegas.

Some may say that money isn’t everything in life and I agree, but I also  agree that it can give you a certain amount of power. Now  how someone uses this power it is up to him to decide.  Wrong or right, love or hate him, ladies and gentlemen: this is Floyd “The Money” Mayweather.
