By Jarrette: I will start off by saying this is my first post so I will start with an easy subject article, no controversy, no arguing, just opinions on your personal dream fights.
Now with that out of the way this article is purely to hear everyone’s wish list for 2014.
- Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs, Gennady “GGG” Golovkin
- Ruslan “Siberian Rocky” Provodnikov vs, Brandon Rios/Manny Pacquiao
- Lucas Matthysse vs. Adrien Broner
- Keith Thurman vs. Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero/Amir Khan
- (if Danny Garcia moves to 147 next) Garcia vs. Robert Guerrero/Marcos Maidana
- Andre Ward vs. Gennady Golovkin
- Sergio Martinez vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr
- Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Sergio Martinez (at 160)
- Miguel Cotto vs. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez
- Deontay Wilder vs. anyone for a belt
- Gennady “GGG” Golovkin vs. Sergio Martinez
So these are just some of the fights I would really like to see this year that are very realistic to happen (promotions and weight wise). I believe all of these would be very good fights but I also believe it could expose a lot of good talent at the moment. For instance, I’m not sure if Danny Garcia moved to 147 if he could handle Maidana or Guerrero’s power barring that he has been rocked by Lucas Matthysse and Zab Judah his last 2 out of 3 fights. All that aside I think my two favorite fights on my list are Matthysse vs Broner because it’s obvious Broner has a problem with a big puncher and a relentless style like “The Machine”. The second fight would be strictly an entertainment fight with Siberian Rocky vs Brandon Rios. This fight would be none stop action and I think that Siberian Rocky could very well knock Rios out (and I’m a boxing fan from ks, close to Rios hometown).
These are just my thoughts, so let’s hear everyone else’s and remember it’s not about unrealistic fights but real ones that could take place this calendar year.
