He is an extremely cerebral trainer who will always devise the best game plan/strategy possible for his fighter to execute and succeed with. If any one of the fighters in his stable faces an opponent who has bad tendencies, flaws or weaknesses, you can be certain that Hunter will know exactly what they are and how his fighter can effectively exploit them during a fight.

For the promotion of the ”Canelo vs Angulo” fight, Hunter was asked many questions about Canelo. During one of the Q & A sessions done by Showtime, one of Hunter’s responses really stood out to me. When Hunter was asked, ”What are some of Canelo’s weaknesses”? He answered, ”I believe he has stamina problems, and I believe he likes to takes rests. I am very aware of that and when he wants to rest we are not going to let him rest. And I believe Alfredo is going to wear him down until he circums.” {I personally understood the points that Hunter was making in regards to Canelo and taking a rest} but then he went on to point out, ”Alfredo’s been in these types of fights, Canelo hasn’t been in a fight were he’s got to make up his mind, he’s gonna have to take this, take something to win the fight. He hasn’t been that way yet. He’s a young kid. Recently, Floyd gave him an education, this man can give him a beating.” LOL, WOW! Very bold statement. And, it is not past the realm of possibility. Especially, when Canelo’s trainer Eddie Reynoso has stated, ”In a fight you always get hit, even if it is on your arms, but you get hit. We are going to beat Angulo fighting his fight, exchanging punches. That’s how we’ll beat him, easily.”

Will this be an easy fight for Canelo? Will his youth, speed and power totally overwhelm and obliterate Angulo? Or, is Hunter right? Can Angulo’s power truly hurt Canelo so much so that it would break his will to continue fighting? They advertised this fight perfectly, ”Toe to Toe”. It has all the ingredients of being a great fight! God Bless!
