By Chris Williams: Here’s a sneak preview of the Showtime All Access behind the scenes photo shoot of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26 KO’s) as he gets ready for his big fight against WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-3, 31 KO’s) on May 3rd on Showtime pay-per-view.

Golden Boy Promotions revealed the other three big fights on the card on Monday with former IBF/WBA light welterweight world titlist fighting former WBA 147lb champ Luis Collazo, unbeaten future world champion J’Leon Love battling Marco Antonio Periban in super middleweight action, and former three division world champion Adrien Broner facing a tough fighter in Carlos Molina in a 10 round tune-up fight to get Broner ready for rematch against Maidana.

Mayweather looks like he’s been training for months already despite the fact that he just started training earlier this month. He’s obviously stayed in great shape since his one-sided 12 round decision win over the junior middleweight division’s best fighter Saul “Canelo” Alvarez last September. It’s been 6 months since that fight, but Mayweather looks like he’s in the same condition he was when he fought Canelo.

Maidana has been hard at work as well in getting ready for the fight with Mayweather, and he’s also looking really good for this fight. Maidana will likely have his weight down below what he had it for his recent win over Broner last December. Maidana looked kind of puffy after he rehydrated for that fight, and that could be a sign that he took off too much water weight to get down to 147. This time Maidana looks like he’s already close to the 147lb limit with still a little over 5 weeks to go before the fight. Maidana will easily make weight this time, and he should be able to fight a lot harder for the full 12 rounds compared to the last time he fought. This should be a great fight.

Don’t expect Mayweather to stay in his shell for the full 12 rounds like Broner did last December in the Maidana fight. Mayweather knows that he can’t stay stationary in his shell defense without Maidana bombarding him into submission. Mayweather knows he’s going to need to stay on the move to keep from getting hit with some massive punches from Maidana. We’ve already seen Maidana’s blueprint leaked out by his trainer Robert Garcia, who says that he’s training Maidana to throw a lot of punches each round to try and overwhelm Mayweather’s shoulder roll defense.
