The top 10 dream fights that never happend

10. Sugar Ray Leonard vs julio Cesar Chavez. This fight would have been the classic Thunder vs Lightning.. With The famous bull rush, hard pressed approach that Chavez had built into a hall of fame career, and the slick lightning fast hands of The classic Sugar Ray Leonard. This fight can only make us speculate on the greatness that could have been witnessed.

9. Julio Cesar Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor 2, in an immediate rematch. Taylor was literally 2 seconds away of a well deserved win against Chavez, delivering a clinic. Although he was legitimately hurt when going down, Richard Steel was experienced enough to be well aware of the time remaining in the classic first fight. The rematch was way past his prime, when the second fight had finally happened.

8. Mike Tyson vs David Tua. This fight truly did not have the luster it should have been given. But during the mid 90s, this fight may have gone down as a heavyweight version of the classic Barrera vs Morales….. however, I highly doubt it would have lasted more than 3 rounds.

7. David Tua vs Evander Holyfield. With Evander Holyfield coming off of back to back convincing wins over Iron Mike Tyson, And Tua’s quick rise to the top, this fight would have been an excellent choice for fans worldwide.

6. Lennox Lewis vs George Foreman. Although this may have been a clinic performance by Lewis, Oliver McCall, and Michael Moore will be the first to tell all fans, it only takes one shot.

5. Larry Holmes vs George Foreman. although during my era they were well past there prime, neither fighter was ever convincingly beaten. It could have been the late 70s, 80s, or even early 90s, and this fight would have been very intriguing.

4. Roy Jones Jr vs Shane Mosley. Although later in there careers there was a huge weight difference, at one point (at separate times) weight was close enough to meet at a catch weight.

This fight would have been an overwhelming display of speed and power from both sides.

3. Christy Martin vs Layla Ali. Yes this fight did happen. But one could only imagine what this fight could have done during a time when Martin was as close to a female Mike Tyson as any woman could have been.

2. Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield. Yes, this fight did happen. But when one of the biggest underdogs in boxing history, took on a man considered as the baddest man on the planet, James Buster Douglas derailed a super fight that was so close to have been made… 10 rounds of true punishment, leaving all of Japan in complete silence. The entire arena could have heard a pin drop after the fight. Or for the lack of a better description. We all could have heard an Evander teardrop. If only October of 1990 would have never happened, The real deal Holyfield would have been given the chance to derail the invincible one and only Mike Tyson. Imagine the electricity of this fight, if we could have observed this fight in the Legendary arena, Caesars palace.

1. Mayweather vs Pacquiao. This fight is slipping away before our eyes.. At this point, I truly feel this fight has lost the excitement it could have been. But, because of the constant wants around the world, this fight will still net a record breaking ppv from all fans no matter the date it takes place… But as a dreamer, I can only imagine what could have been, if both egos could have been set aside in the year 2009. Between the speed, power, and invincibility of Manny Pacquiao, and the confidence, and swagger of the slick Floyd Mayweather, all critics, and boxing enthusiasts around the world would have never known for sure what could have been.
