wlad7372By Allan Fox: #1 WBO challenger Alex Leapai (30-4-3, 24 KO’s) is predicting that he’ll make quick work of IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (60-3, 51 KO’s) in their fight on April 26th at the Koenig Pilsener Arena, Oberhausen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Leapai expects Wladimir to fold immediately once he lands one of his big shots cleanly on his chin.

Leapai, 6’0″, is going to need to find a way to land his big shots, because he’ll be giving up 6″ in height and another 6″ in reach to the 6’6″ Wladimir. When the two heavyweights stood face-to-face in their recent press conference, Leapai looked like a cruiserweight next to Wladimir.

The question that immediately pops in your head is how is Leapai going to be able to land his big power shots in this fight. The only way it can happen is if Wladimir stays perfectly still and lets Leapai walk him down and nail him with shots. There’s also a chance that Wladimir could get hit with something if he misses with one of his right hands and falls into a hard right hand by Leapai.

“Once he feels what I have it’s going to be all over,” Leapai said to News on Tour. “The 2nd round I’m going to end it.”

Wladimir responded with “There’s no news. This is nothing new that I haven’t heard before that I have a glass chin. I assure you that even the toughest chin in the world can become a glass chin when the steel hammer is going to hit it.”

Leapai earned the shot to fight Wladimir by beating Denis Boystov last November. Leapai showed good power in pounding Boytsov, and knocking him down twice in the fight. However, Boystov,, 6’1″, didn’t have the size to keep the 6’0″ on the outside the way that the 6’6″ Wladimir will be looking to do on April 26th. Leapai would have had a much tougher time if he had to defeat one of the giant heavyweights in the top 15 like Tyson Fury, Kubrat Pulev or Deontay Wilder to earn his shot against Wladimir instead of just needing to beat Boytsov.
