Audley Harrison wants clash against Dereck Chisora

deontay7By Scott Gilfoid: 42-year-old Audley Harrison (31-7, 23 KO’s) KO’s) is reportedly interested in facing Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) next, and he feels that he can give the 29-year-old Chisora a tough test if given the chance. If nothing else, Harrison thinks that a fight between them can bring in a lot of fans at the Copper Box Arena in London, UK.

With three stoppage losses in his last seven fights, it would seem that Audley would be a terrible match-up for Chisora considering that fans would see it as a mismatch and stay away in droves. But when you look at the pretty poor opposition that Chisora has beaten in his last five fights to supposedly turn his career around, Audley fits in quite nicely with that bunch.

Believe me, Chisora was right where Audley is right now in terms of his career after trying to step it up against the better fighters in the heavyweight division and losing one after another to Tyson Fury, Vitali Klitschko, Robert Helenius and David Haye.

Chisora wasn’t able to turn things around until he was eased backwards a couple of levels and matched against the following fighters: Hector Alfredo Avila, Edmund Gerber, Malike Scott, Ondrej Pala, and Kevin Johnson. I honestly think Audley could hold his own against any one of those heavyweights. I mean, we’re talking about the same level as Audley in terms of talent pretty much. If Chisora is fine with fighting the likes of Gerber, Avila, Scott, Pala and Johnson, then why not fight Audley?

Audley said this on his social media site: “Let’s look at @dellboychisora last opponents Kingpin [Kevin Johnson] on a weeks notice, Malik Scott, who was ahead, but controversially stopped. Derek Chisora…take the easy payday, fill [the] Copper Box & give me a beat-down.”

Chisora might as well fight Audley. Heck, I can see Audley having a real chance of winning this fight as long as he doesn’t get nailed with a big shot behind the head like Pala, Scott and Johnson were in their recent fights. Chisora doesn’t have the outright power to do to Audley what Deontay Wilder and David Price did in stopping him in the 1st round. Yeah, I think Chisora can knock Audley out if he nails him with a rabbit punch, but I don’t see him getting a knockout if he lands punches to the front portion of his head. Chisora might win by a 12 round decision, but I don’t see him getting a knockout unless he brains him with a shot bind the head.
