Amir Khan defines who hardcore fans are

As far as Khan and Marcos Maidana’s chances against Floyd Mayweather Jr., I give Maidana a punchers chance. He has been in a little streak as of late in winning his last four fights, and he did do a number on baby Mayweather (Adrien Broner) last December, who we all know has a long way to go to be at Mayweather’ss level. But like anyone else with a punchers chance that has faced Mayweather, Maidana just doesn’t have the ring intelligence to compete with Mayweather in this fight. Mayweather will exploit his flaws and it’ll end up a one sided match.

Khan certainly has the skills and intelligence to make it interesting against Mayweather Jr,, but with Khan insisting that he would out-box him, we’re looking at a chess match that only those hard core fans that vote on twitter and Facebook would like. But then there is that chin of Khan’s that is always coming into question. If Khan actually believes what he says in that he can out-box Mayweather, he is already underestimating his opponent and we might actually see Mayweather get a KO at some point in the fight.

Maidana has a good story and he has proven strong in his last few fights, so I can see why he got thrown into this “lottery”, but I still don’t understand the Khan selection. If Mayweather is going to continue to keep your distance from Manny Pacquiao, why not at least give us someone like Danny Garcia?
