07 Porter vs Alexande IMG_3180(Photo credit: Tom Casino/Showtime) By Allen Hmiel: Talk about an evenly matched fight between a talented Shawn Porter 23-0-1 versus the “future of boxing,” as he calls himself Adrian Broner at 27-0. The unbeaten newly crowed IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter and WBA welterweight champion Adrian Broner are built the same way and both possess the quick hands and boxing ability to draw fan interest.

Two evenly matched similar fighters would be a great fight in the immediate future in early 2014.

Shawn destroyed a vastly overrated former IBF 147 lb. champion Devon Alexander and took Devon’s title belt last night in their fight on Showtime. Broner has an easy fight coming up against the one dimensional Marcos Maidana next week. It looks like Porter, 26, was prepared and ready for Devon and overwhelmed the under-matched slower Alexander with fast hands and hard punches. Think of a Broner fight for Porter and the excitement that would bring to boxing? Broner’s arrogance and style against the humble equally talented quick Shawn Porter. Porter from Cleveland and Broner from Cincinnati would bring some Midwest flavor to all fans and surely fill up any venue.

Who do you pick to win in this possible match-up between the two fighters who could be boxing future once Floyd retires? The quick hands of Porter versus the speed and talent of Adrian Broner. An evenly matched fight and a sure fan pleasing bout for all boxing. Could Porter derail the dreams that Broner has for Boxing as Floyd’s replacement and fan favorite and future PPV king? Porter could do it and upset Broner. Both fighters are built the same and both possess blinding hand speed and a a good defense. Porter could also be stronger than Adrian Broner and actually pose a problem for the Problem. Who wins Porter or Broner besides Boxing in general?
