By Chris Williams: Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26 KO’s) shows an ugly picture of what’ll be the end of one of Great Britain’s best fighters in Amir “King” Khan (28-3, 19 KO’s) if he picks him out as the winner of the Mayweather lottery for May 3rd in Las Vegas, Nevada. Although Mayweather still hasn’t said who he wants to fight in his next pay-per-view bout on Showtime, his tweet from day suggests a terrible outcome for Khan if he gives him the chance to take the fight.

The photos shows Khan falling backwards with both eyes closed and totally out on his feet. It’s the same thing that we’ve seen from Khan in his stoppage losses to Breidis Prescott and Danny Garcia with Khan nailed by a big shot and sent down down on the canvas with both eyes closed during the fall. What was so brutal about those knockouts for Khan was that he didn’t even brace his fall in getting dropped. Khan was too badly hurt for him to be able to put his arms behind him to help cushion his fall. It’s really when a fighter gets knocked out like that, because it shows you how hurt they were after getting tagged by a big punch. Mayweather’s photo shows that he sees Khan getting dropped in the exact same way.

It’s literally a lottery for Khan because he doesn’t have the same things going for him that Mayweather’s other two candidates Marcos Maidana and Manny Pacquiao have going for them. Maidana is coming off of a huge victory over Adrien Broner this month, and he’s won over a lot of fans with that win. Maidana also appears to have a lot of Hispanic fans now supporting him in the U.S. Mayweather would do well on PPV to fight Maidana at this time. As for Pacquiao, he’s struggling with his career, but he’s still a big name and a fight between him and Mayweather would bring in big money for Mayweather. With Khan, he doesn’t have the fan base that Maidaana and Pacquiao bring to the table, so it’s not nearly as big a fight as it would be for Mayweather to fight Maidana and Pacquiao.
