Maidana creates blueprint in how to beat Broner

broner010101By Allen Hmiel: Seeing the dismantling and defeat of Adrian Broner to the underdog Marcos Maidana last Saturday night brought back memories of another well known boxing star Naseem Hamed from England over a decade ago.

Broner and Hamed both had that air of superiority in thinking they were great fighters until they were exposed by good opposition.

Broner in losing for the first time to Maidana will now be vulnerable to every tough fighter out there. They’ll come after the once confidant Broner with fists flying looking to expose him in the same way that Maidana did last Saturday. The blueprint in how to beat Broner has now been created by Maidana, and you can bet every fighter that faces him from here on out will use the Maidana fight as a model.

Broner’s boxing soap bubble has been popped and Adrian has been relegated to just another kid with a huge ego a false sense of braggadocio and little self esteem.

Remembering Naseem Hamed of over ten years ago the same scenario played out an arrogant fighter turning off some fans with his act until he got hammered by the Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera and exposed. The loss by Hamed basically retired him from boxing. Once Barrera exposed Naseem as an average fighter, Naseem soon gave up boxing.

Broner now faces the same dilemma as Hamed faced after losing. The magic and falseness and boxing weakness has been exposed in him, and every talented fighter will now want to beat on Broner as Maidana has done. Broner is now just another fighter. He’ll have to try and regain some sense of boxing respect now that his mystique has been imploded and dissolved.

It’s funny how two undefeated fighters so similar in styles and arrogance got beat and their careers nosedived. It’s not happened to Broner as of yet, but it’s a possibility that we may soon be seeing.

Fans didn’t seem to mind as Hamed retired and faded quickly from the boxing world like a jilted burned admirer. Broner’s demise seems to have energized the boxing fan base and given attention to a well deserved and complete gentleman in Maidana.

So similar were both fighters that in losing it seems boxing as a sport wins out again.
