Will there be a rematch between Froch and Groves?

groves63By Kyle Proctor: Well wasn’t this fight full of the unexpected, George Groves (19-1, 15 KO’s) knocking down IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch (32-2, 23 KO’s) with a right hand in the 1st round and stunning pretty much everyone who said he didn’t have a big right hand.

Groves then bullied Froch with his speed and jab up to the 7th round, when, in my opinion, Groves started tire and Froch’s superior stamina started to come in to play. Froch hurt Groves in the 9th round which caused the referee to stop the fight early. However, as Froch only wobbled Groves I think it was bad refereeing and should of been a standing count at least.

I could not of give Froch any of the rounds, I scored the fight:

10/8 in favor of Groves scoring a knockdown.
10/9 in favor of Groves landing the cleaner shots.
10/9 in favor of Groves he bullied Froch with the jab and got him fighting on the back foot.
10/9 in favor of Groves he started to land clean one two on Froch.
10/10 both fighter were looking for a counter for most of the round.
10/9 in favor of Groves he was landing to many jabs on Froch it seem like Froch’s only defense was his chin.
10/10 Froch try’s bulling Groves and gets away with a few illegal punches groves landed a few good right hands but started to tire but landed enough clean shots to draw the round.
10/9 in favor of Groves I believe Froch should of lost a point for illegal punching when the break happens.

I heard that two of the officials gave the fight to Groves by only one round. I could not see the fight being that close and I am glad that this didn’t go to a split decision for Froch and he robbed the fight.

I don’t see Froch wanting to have a rematch with Groves, because Groves scored a knockout down on the first round plus was to fast and he completely dominated the fight. However, this being the biggest money fight for both fighters and considering the  age of Froch, I see him going after it for the money.
