Predictions on Carl Froch vs. George Groves

froch672By Kyle Proctor: Potentially the biggest fight in British boxing in a long time, IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch (31W-22KO-2L) vs The Saint George Groves (19W-15KO-0L).

The battle between experience vs youth, Carl Froch has definitely got more experience in the ring plus more stamina, and a better chin than the younger George Groves. However, Groves has got the advantage when it comes to agility and hand speed.

In my personal opinion there are three ways this fight could end. My first prediction for  this fight is that Froch is going to win by a late stoppage somewhere between the 8th and 12th rounds. I see Froch trying to cut the ring down and get Groves on the ropes /corners. If he can do this he will be able to weaken his stamina and the longer the fight goes on the easier I see Froch winning by accumulating enough damage to make Groves drop. I don’t believe he will be able  to end the fight in a single punch.

My second prediction is that Groves will win on points. I see him being able to out box Froch by keeping him on the outside and beating him with the jab and landing counters. I believe Groves power has gotten better but not enough to beat Froch’s chin, but Groves to me just seems more of a smarter boxer than Froch.

My third predictions is with Froch being  angry he will fight similar to the Lucian Bute fight and will rush at Groves and try to make it a full on toe to toe brawl. This could shock Groves making him throw away his game plan. This could go either way if Groves  can land great counters, but I see this suiting Froch’s style of fighting with  his superior chin.

My favored choice is my second prediction I would be interested to hear other peoples opinion on this fight.
