By Gerardo Granados: Once both Brandon Rios and Antonio Margarito mocked trainer Freddie Roach for his Parkinson disease and the result that came from that was a terrible beating for Margarito with trainer Robert Garcia allowing his fighter to take unnecessary punishment. Now Alex Ariza, a member of team Rios, added fuel to a burning relation.
If you have a discussion and the tempers get hot you´ll have to choose to take it to the next level or simply yell at each other but once you throw a punch you can’t take it back. If in the past there was animosity between camps or former teammates now there might be bad blood.
Many times you have seen fighters putting on a show to heat up a fight and draw more attention to it, but this incident looks to be real. It was a deplorable attitude by Alex Ariza who gave a cheap shot at a man who has Parkinson´s syndrome; he should know very well that Roach´s condition makes him have involuntary muscle movement that could increase while in a stressing emotional situation. Next Saturday night it won’t be business as usual and the fighter who gets out of focus could not follow the fight game plan.
