Fury furious with Haye after he reveals shoulder surgery

fury2 (2)By Scott Gilfoid: As you would expect, unbeaten Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) didn’t take the news too good about his February 8th scheduled opponent Davis Haye having career-threatening shoulder surgery in Germany. Haye now won’t be able to face Fury on February 8th, and there are major questions about whether Haye will ever be able to fight again, as he reportedly was told that he should hang up the gloves.

In response to the news, Fury took to twitter and said “I smell p***y is that you David? I smell p***y. Is that you David?…Every little thing is going to be alright.”

I think everything is not going to be already for Fury, unless he wants to sit around for eons waiting for Haye’s shoulder to heal. Even when it does, it’s going to be a major gamble on Fury’s part if he decides to try and reschedule a fight with Haye. But with the huge 5 million pounds that Fury was going to make for the Haye fight, I can definitely see him waiting for as long as it takes to try and reschedule that fight. I can see Fury taking a tune-up or two against low level opposition, but I’d be willing to be that Fury will choose to try all he can to make the Haye fight happen. If that means waiting for a year, then I can definitely see Fury doing that because he’s not going to make that kind of cash fighting anyone else, including against one of the Klitschko brothers.

Fury told the Daily Mail “I’m absolutely furious but in all honest this is exactly what I expected. Everyone knows I was very suspicious when he pulled out the first time and this confirms to me that he’s always been afraid of me and never wanted this fight.”

Haye said in a statement “I genuinely believed the shoulder injury wasn’t that bad. But the doctor sent me for a detailed MRI scan and within 24 hours I was told the full extent of the damage. 24 hours after that I was in the operating theater.”

I wonder how the injury occurred? Haye’s not saying how this one occurred. The last injury, a cut over his left eye, happened during his furious sparring sessions to get ready for a fight with Fury. Haye chose to spar the week before the fight and he clearly shouldn’t have taken that risk because he suffered a bad cut that caused the fight to be postponed.

The real question, besides whether Haye will ever fight again, is who will Fury choose to fight next? Will he just wait around until Haye’s shoulder heals to face him or will he look to move on and face one of the top heavyweight contenders in the division. Believe me, there’s a long line of heavyweights that would love to get a shot against Fury, starting with Deontay Wilder.
