bradley#1By Albert Choi: After watching the fight between Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KO’s) and Timothy Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s), everyone got the see the hard working WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) completely take Marquez out of his game plan by using the jab, good footwork, and being the busier fighter throughout the fight. Going into the fight, many ring experts believed that Marquez was too “smart” and experienced for the younger Bradley, who was also coming off a tough fight over hard hitting Russian Ruslan Provodnikov. However, after 12 rounds, Bradley won a deserved split decision win over the Mexican legend.

Now that Marquez is out of the way, the only logical fight for Bradley would have to be a shot at Floyd Mayweather Jr. next year in May. Having officially beaten both Marquez and Pacquiao, although Pacquiao was robbed, Bradley should now be considered the next opponent worthy of stepping into the ring against the pound for pound monarch, Floyd “Money” Mayweather. Not saying Bradley would win, but it would be an interesting fight because of the styles of the two fighters and Bradley is the most deserving when it comes to the resume of all of the fighters.

The reason why I believe the fight between Bradley and Mayweather could be interesting is because of the Bradley’s pure determination when it comes to winning, work rate, and conditioning, and his own boxing intelligence. Although Mayweather is the smartest fighter in the world, Bradley shown against Marquez that he too has a boxing mind and can outwit an opponent who many people deemed as one of the smartest fighters in the boxing game.

Also, the conditioning of Bradley can also play a critical role in making the fight against Mayweather something worth watching because of the fact that Bradley comes into the ring in such great shape where I think he would be able to keep up with the great Mayweather in terms of  not being tired towards the end of the fight. Overall, after looking at all of the possible opponents for the “Money” Man, Mayweather Jr., I think its pretty clear that Bradley is the most deserving of the fight, and also is the one who can give Mayweather the most problems.
