Fury crowing about Haye pulling out of fight

fury77By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) is really standing up on his hind legs to yap now that former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) has pulled out of their September 28th fight due to a bad cut. The way that Fury is crowing about it, you would think that he’s almost relieved now that he doesn’t have to face Haye in the ring and taste the sting of his punches on his face.

Fury’s trainer Peter Fury has already said that the fight is off, and that they won’t bother trying to put the fight back together.

Fury told Sky Sports “There only would have been one winner and that was me. An army couldn’t have stopped me on Saturday because I’d prepared mentally, physically, everything. I couldn’t have done any more in training. I’m in the shape of my life. I just couldn’t wait to show everyone what I was going to do and had up my sleeve.”

If Fury really wanted the fight don’t you think he’d be bending over backwards to try and reschedule the fight? The fact that his trainer is already talking about moving on sees to suggest that they can’t wait to skedaddle out of there in another direction to face someone else.

I wouldn’t mind so much if Fury was going to head in the direction of someone talented like Deontay Wilder, but I doubt Fury will get anywhere near the 6’7” knockout artist. Fury has been padding his record against the likes of Martin Rogan, Neven Pajkic and Steve Cunningham, so we’re likely going to be seeing Fury facing either a bottom dweller fringe contender or more 2nd tier opposition.

With Fury facing weak opposition, he’ll eventually get his world title shot against one of the Klitschko brothers, but it won’t matter because Fury will be obliterated completely when that day comes. Fury doesn’t have the power, speed, skills or experience to mix it up with one of the Klitschkos or even Deontay Wilder.
