Tyson Fury bellyaching about the training he has to do for Haye bout

fury555By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) is all wound up about how he has to start his training all over again for his rescheduled fight against David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) on February 8th at the Manchester Arena, in the UK.

They were supposed to be fighting this Saturday night, but because of the cut that Haye suffered in sparring, the fight had to be delayed 4 ½ months.

Instead of being happy that he’s still in line for a nice payday that will give 5 million pounds, Fury is whimpering over the fact that he’ll need to restart his training all over again.

Fury told Sky Sports “I’m not going through all this torture again, weeks and weeks and weeks of training and being away from my family for months on end, for it to get to the week and him pull out. I would have fought with two cut eyes; I would have fought with a broken leg.”

So in other words, Fury would rather fight with an injury than to restart the months of painful training? Something tells me that Fury might not have the heart and discipline to be able to take the pain and suffering that goes with being a full-time boxer.

To be a world class boxer, you have to live the life 100 percent of the time, especially if you’re not all that talented to begin with like Fury. I mean, I could understand Fury being able to take it easy on training if he had the speed and power of someone like Deontay Wider, but the fact is he doesn’t have Deontay’s skills.

Fury is slower, weaker, and easier to hit, and with a fragile chin. Therefore, Fury needs to live like a medieval Spartan to make up for what he lacks in the talent department. But with Fury bellyaching about the training he has to do for his profession, I’m wondering if he has the right temperament for this sport.

If Fury can’t take the pain involved with training, then he needs to retire and go into another line of work in the UK. I’m sure there are a lot of other jobs in the UK that Fury would be good at besides boxing.
