Buboy wants Pacquiao to retire if Rios beats him

buboy44 - CopyBy Chris Williams: Buboy Fernandez, one of the trainers for Manny Pacquiao, wants him to hang up the gloves if he gets beaten in his next fight against Brandon Rios on November 23rd in Macao, China. Buboy didn’t like seeing Pacquiao knocked cold in his last fight by Juan Manuel Marquez, and he doesn’t want to see Pacquiao in that position again.

Buboy said to Inquirer.net “As long as we can see that he can still pull the trigger inside the ring and can fight, then we will let him continue. But I don’t want to see my best friend, who is already my brother, to get hurt again. If that happens, then I will advise him to hang his gloves and retire.”

Unless Pacquiao can get to Rios early in this fight then the chances are high that Pacquiao is going to get worn down and stopped by him. Pacquiao is made to order for Rios due to his aggressive fighting style.

Pacquiao will be hit with too many heat shots by Rios because of his overly aggressive fighting style. Believe me, Rios won’t wait on Pacquiao the way that Marquez did. He’s going to go after him and try and take his head off with every punch.

It’s not a problem of Pacquiao not being able to pull the trigger on his shots. If that’s the condition that Buboy is setting up for him to retire, then he might not give him the advice to retire until long after he’s a shot fighter. The problem with Pacquiao is he was just knocked out, and his punch resistance might have deteriorated from that.

Pacquiao was knocked down twice by Marquez. There was no problem with Pacquiao pulling the trigger. The problem was he was dropped left and right when he was getting hit. That should be the thing that Buboy is looking at when making a determination about whether Pacquiao should hang up the gloves or not.
