broner988221By @BoxingMuse: Twitter is an excellent avenue for our sport; the sweet science of Boxing. If you are a user on twitter then please follow us at @boxingnews24 for the sport’s latest news and articles on various boxing matters and subjects. Also follow me @BoxingMuse, I always encourage readers to write comments on this site but if you wish to ask me a question or comment on any of my articles (negative or positive) please tweet me even if you just want a debate on any boxing matter.

It is a shame that some of the sports biggest names are not active enough to be on this list too such as Mayweather and Pacquiao but here is a list of the ten most useful and entertaining boxing related accounts on twitter to follow.

10. @EddieHearn

The UK’s top promoter, Head of Matchroom boxing Eddie Hearn is a useful account to follow. Get up to date progress on potential match ups and on-going information about the next big fight involving Britain’s most promising stable of fighters.

9. @AdrienBroner

The 24 year old is very active on twitter, sometimes less is more but Broner must disagree as he endlessly tweets. You may be asking what does he tweet about? Good question. Some of it is boxing, some of it is promoting his ‘rap’ music and some I don’t have the faintest idea of what he is talking about. Best way to find out is to follow him yourself!

8. @HitmanHatton

Former light welterweight and welterweight champion Ricky Hatton was always one of boxing’s great characters. Hatton is a now a dedicated twitter user keeping you in the loop with his life as a trainer, promoter and father. ‘The Hitman’ frequently posts reminiscent images or tweets about his legendary boxing career.

7. @OscarDeLaHoya

President of Golden Boy Promotions makes his presence known on Twitter with under 500,000 followers. Oscar gives you the low down on Golden Boy plans and his reaction of fights. A great insight from a once great fighter.

6. @philchipbally

I’d like you Boxing fans to meet Phil Chip Balshaw. This user is a pound for pound the biggest ‘boxing head’ you will come across on twitter. Follow this account if you want links to great fights and boxing videos on YouTube, news, fantasy matchups and anything else boxing related.

5. @iconic_boxing

A brilliant account clearly created by a massive boxing fan and a dedicated expert. This user does exactly what you see in the user name. Uploads iconic boxing images with a short description about the photo, which is usually a beautiful piece of photography.

4. @Tyson_Fury

Like him or not Fury is a twitter heavyweight champion. The 6’9”trash talking Mancunian is consistently disrespectfully ranting and calling out opponents. It honestly appears that Fury feeds of off the love and hate he gets from twitter users. AlthoughFury does take time off twitter in-between bouts.

3. @LennoxLewis

The last undisputed heavyweight champion of the world is a sure shot to follow on twitter. Lennox posts or retweets inspiring and motivating quotes which is refreshing. Lennox also has sessions where he replies to fans questions and provides great insight to his own career.

2. @PaulMalignaggi,

Former two weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi is not known as ‘Twitter King’. The outspoken Italian American is a must follow on twitter. He regularly replies or re-tweets fans more so than any big name professional boxer. ‘The Magic Man’ is entertaining and this especially evident before and after the super-fight with Broner. Most importantly Malinaggi is very active as a social network user.

1. @danrafaelespn

The American is a heavyweight boxing writer in significance and in stature! But make no mistakes Dan Rafael is pound for pound one of the best accounts to follow for boxing. Dan is either ringside or watching every notable fight on TV so if you literally need round by round and live fight coverage he is your man.
