By Gerardo Granados: Have the reader ever seen a fight in which one of the fighters uses at least one dirty trick, or at least have you seen the referee allowing it? Well not only at a championship bout but at any tournament or sparring session you will see that the dirty tricks are part of a boxing fight.

Some referee´s tend to tolerate endless clinching without warning the fighters or even less deducting a point. Have the reader ever hit using the laces side of the glove or have you ever used it to rub a bruise or cut during a clinch?

Last weekend a saw a fight on open television, there was a fight that caught my attention because one of the fighters was a really dirty son of boxing. The referee tried to do his work the best he could, but failed to deduct a couple of points due flagrant fouls.
Sometimes a low blow or a hit to the back of the head aren´t done intentionally but to hit the outside of the hip or leg can help you slow down your opponent as well.

During a clinch to take the arm and apply a little of torsion can hurt the elbow joint of your rival. On times to step on the feet can be accidental but to do it and then throw a combination can give you and edge and experienced fighters can use it against young fighters. To use the elbow to hit or to head butt might be the worst but the use of illegal substances have no place in boxing.

There is a lion king who isn´t a dirty fighter but he often clinch and on times uses his elbow to push off or to choke the throat while trying to brake lose of a clinch; after a clinch he pushes the face off and then punches; holds the head down and then punch. In the past he has proved that he won’t tolerate any one to try to use any dirty tricks on him.

Do you remember that heavy weight champion? He is hall of fame material but fought dirty more than once. There is an old veteran champion who flagrantly rabbit punched. There is a former champion who used to punch after the bell rang.

On times crafty and experienced fighters can foul his opponent without getting caught but there are a couple of referees that will only warn once before deducting a point. It is not new and for sure will always be part of boxing and at any boxing gym you will find a couple of dirty fighters from whom many have learned a few tricks. Some are veteran fighters but there are also young boxers who have mastered a dirty boxing style.

From the fighters from the past and present who is the dirtiest of all?
