Tyson Fury is in a winning situation

fury555By Mark Havey: On the 28th of September we will see Britain’s two most controversial heavyweights lock horns in Manchester. David Haye and Tyson Fury started their war of words some time ago, with Fury making toe references. Fury has also dragged up the past by claiming that Haye ignored him when he was a star struck child.

In Britain a lot of importance is put on domestic clashes and they are the fights that get the fans really excited. In any boxing gym you will hear people debating with animated hand gestures and energized enthusiasm. I see this a lot, and even more so with this recent match up.

The majority of people seem to be siding with David Haye based on his lighting fast combinations. For a heavyweight, Haye is exceptionally fast. His experience at the top echelon of two weight classes is another reason the Hayemaker seems to be the preferred pick. Fury’s chances have been shrugged aside for his suggested lack of ability and certainly his lack of speed.

There are those that swear that Tyson Fury will win. He is much taller than Haye and looks like the typical heavyweight. People believe that he will have a game plan and that will be to win the fight with his jab. This certainly is his best chance of victory. People are saying that Haye struggled with Wladimir Klitschko’s height. This is true, however, Tyson is not Wladimir.

I do believe that David Haye will be too fast for Tyson Fury. The height shouldn’t be a big issue as we have seen Haye work very effectively against big fighters before. Wladimir was triumphant through a combination of size, speed and efficient use of the jab.

Unless Fury is knocked out very quickly, it’s hard to see his career being damaged. Regardless of the result he will benefit from this fight. Of course he will be laughing all the way to the bank. Haye is the former two weight world champion. He knocked out Chisora and went the distant with the world’s best heavyweight. Considering Haye is a small heavyweight, he has impressive power. Fury has been haunted by suspicions of a weak chin. If he can take the Power of Haye, he comes out in a better position than when he went in. True he will lose his unbeaten record, but that just means that he has tested himself. If he can rock Haye or floor him, his ranking won’t suffer too much.
