Danny Garcia vs. Lucas Matthysse confrmed for Mayweather/Canelo undercard on September 14th!

Just moments ago Richard Schaefer finally announced that Danny “Swift” Garcia (26-0, 16 KOs) will face Lucas “the Machine” Matthysse (34-2, 32 KOs) on September 14th on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Canelo Alvarez undercard.

This fight is so big that it will be having its own 3 city press tour. Many are expecting that this will be one of the biggest PPV cards ever. Especially with the potential for a Austin Trout vs. Erislandy Lara matchup also on the undercard, this PPV is going to be huge.

Both Garcia and Matthysse can fight. Both guys have impressive resumes with highlight reel KOs. The WBA(super), WBC, and RING magazine Junior welterweight titles will be on the line. Danny Garcia is consider the number one fighter at junior welterweight by The Ring Magazine. He has victories over Kendall Holt, Erik Morales, Amir Khan and Zab Judah. Matthysse is considered the number two guy, with victories over Humberto Soto, Ajose Olusegun, Mike Dallas Jr., and Lamont Peterson. He also has two controversial losses to Zab Judah and Devon Alexander. Lucas Matthysse believes he is the best junior welterweight in the world and will look to prove it on September 14th.

Regardless of the outcome this is a matchup that has boxing fans salivating. Lucas Matthysse vs. Danny Garcia has Fight of the Year written all over it and is likely to steal the show of Mayweather vs. Canelo.
