chisora101By Ciaran McKinney: The first round in this intriguing bout between Dereck Chisora and the undefeated Malik Scott finished without any real fireworks. With Del Boy catching Scott with a nice right hand leaving his opponent with mild swelling beneath the eye. However Scott was the aggressor and caught Chisora with some lovely combinations and slick body shots.

The second round was certainly low key with both men seemingly putting out the feelers for the remaining 8 rounds. Low work rates from both men, seemingly another round in the bag for Scott. Exceedingly confident corner from Scott, urging their man on with strong words, the line of note ‘Showcase Yourself’.

Into the third round and it began with clinches galore, seemingly the underlying tactic of Chisora, looking to throw his weight around and keeping the longer reach of Scott as a non factor for as long as possible. Long spells on the ropes for Scott yet he absorbs the pressure well and lets Chisora throw meaningless punches. Another round in the bag for Scott, by no means a walkover, no real talking points at the end of round 3.

In Round 4, there are pleas from a relatively quiet, nowhere near capacity arena for Chisora to take the incentive. He responds with some solid work to the body of ‘King’. Scott replies with winding punches, however Chisora soaks it up well. The round progressed with more solid shots from Del Boy to the body, only to be shrugged off by the American. Still nothing of note, Chisora closing down and having an aggressive manner, the sleeker work coming from Scott.

Round 5 began with solid work from Malik Scott picking his punches well, catching Chisora with some nice shots, especially his uppercut. A note could be that Scott should use his reach more to his advantage, in allowing Chisora to close him down, he invites body shots and eliminates his reach and height assets.

In the sixth,  common sight of Scott keeping Chisora in the clinch, mocking the punch power of his opponent. Constant pressure from Chisora, caught big time from Chisore, knocked.. COUNTED OUT!

Massive win for Chisora, the crowd is stunned.
