By Scott Gilfoid: Adam Booth, the manager/trainer for David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s), says that 10,000 tickets have already been sold for the September 28th clash between Haye and the 6’9” heavyweight Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK.

If what Booth is saying is true about that many tickets being sold then the entire 23,000 seat arena should be sold out pretty quick. And if that’s the case, it’s on them for royally blowing it by not opting for a larger venue, such as a stadium. Just imagine all that cash they would have made had they picked the right venue to maximize it.

Booth said this as quoted by Fightnews: “Tickets have been on sale for around three hours now and we have already sold 10,000 tickets. That’s more than any David Haye fight I’ve been involved in, including the Klitschko fight.”

Well, there is a bit of a difference here between the Haye-Fury and the Haye-Klitschko fight. The Haye vs. Klitschko fight took place in Hamburg, Germany, not the UK. So of course there’s not going to be a ton of British of fans looking to pour big cash into buying tickets and making that long trek to Germany.

That was too much of a hassle. But with Haye vs. Fury, it’s local, so naturally there’s going to be a mess of tickets sold within hours.

The funny thing about this fight is it’s pretty much little more than a mismatch between a former champion and an unproven heavyweight with a shaky chin, zero power and an inflated record filled with weak opposition. It’s like the last fight that you would consider worthwhile to purchase tickets to see because the outcome is predestined. Fury is going to get buried and buried quickly by Haye.

Fury’s only real chance of winning the fight is if he can grab a hold of Haye with one arm and hold him down while he repeatedly nails him with his other arm.
