fury43323By Dominic Sauboorah: Unbeaten Heavyweight prospect (21-0, 15 KO’s) has been unable to negotiate a deal to fight the unbeaten Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (17-0 9 KO’s). The fight was a final eliminator for the IBF crown currently held by Wladimir Klitschko.

Due to this it now looks very likely that Fury could meet former WBA champion David Haye in the ring in what would be a mega domestic clash. Fury brings a fair bit to the table considering that he’s undefeated, is highly rated by all the sanctioning bodies and is extremely controversial; therefore a fight with Haye is likely to bring in a large amount of revenue.

In all reality though I think this fight is too soon for Fury, considering that he’s yet to face a genuine top contender, such as Pulev. I believe that if Fury were to have beaten Pulev then that would set him up nicely for a fight against Haye.

Despite this however I do believe Haye’s power would give Fury a lot of problems, considering that Fury got dropped by Steve Cunningham in his last fight and he’s naturally a cruiserweight. The main advantage Fury would have is that of his height and reach which he could use to keep Haye at bay whilst being able to land his own shots.

In my eyes it’s a perfect fight for Haye to come back on, because if he’s able to beat Fury it then puts him right back up there with the elite of the division. Haye’s already proven that his inactivity doesn’t faze him as he was able to knock out Dereck Chisora after a year long lay off. So long as Haye fully recovers from his hand injury and is in tip top condition I can see him beating Fury and possibly knocking him out. Tyson Fury does have youth on his side though and has battled through adversities in the past, so even if Haye knocks Fury down don’t be too surprised if he gets back up.
