Mayweather Junior is the ultimate big winner

mayweather3422By Babatis Banda: Not so in the distant past, we had gotten accustomed to the arguments of who was better between Floyd Mayweather junior and Manny Pacquiao. The two fighters made it clear that they did not need each other to go down in the books as the greatest of all time. For sure, they are both hall of famers and they are accomplished boxer and fighter. Looking at how heated the debates were, because they no longer are, it is only fair that we acknowledge that out of the whole argument, time and reality has separated the two from each other.

At the moment and for the most past of the 17 years or so, it is all Mayweather junior. There is no disputing that he is the biggest and hottest star of the spot. In short, Mayweather junior is the face of the sport and it is only true that all roads do lead to Mayweather junior. All the top fighters, bums included dream of a peace of the pie. In their loss, they are rewarded a life-time of comfort, as if to compensate for the pain and humiliation they suffer at the hands of the master boxer.

In the opposite side of things, Pacquiao has gone painfully quiet, in oblivion of reality. He chose his way, far from Mayweather and almost ended his career in the most tragic incident the sport has registered in the recent past and at the hands of his other nemesis, Emmanuel Marquez. His career might still end tragically though, because this man has had a punishing career. Even when he is younger than Floyd Mayweather, he seems to have aged several years over Mayweather junior in the recent past.

Considering that Mayweather is the undisputed highest paid sports personality in the world, he is the ultimate winner, both against his fellow men in the ring and at the bank. In September, this year of the Lord 2013, he will again grace the ring against a young and promising prospect. This is the boxer he was accused of avoiding and it was said that he would never ever step in the ring with Alvarez because he is too dangerous. Despite the weight issues, Mayweather has picked Alvarez as his next casualty. All Canelo needs to do is weigh 152lbs at the weigh-in and he can balloon to whatever he wants on fight night. In earnest, what it means is that Canelo only needs to come down 2lbs of the 154 lbs weight limit while Floyd Mayweather needs to go up from 147lbs by 5lbs to meet Canelo’s weigh-in weight of 152lbs. Mayweather could not even make weight for his Guerrero fight, as he came in at 146lbs.

There is now a circus of unbelievable accusations. It is being argued that Mayweather is using the catch-weight to have an advantage over Canelo while others are arguing that in fact, Floyd was just forced to face Canelo by Showtime due to what they are calling ‘bad numbers’ in the Guerrero fight. Others are even more delusional, they are saying Mayweather will win only because he is Mayweather. He will run, hold and use dirty tricks against Alvarez. The truth of the matter is that Mayweather junior is just a big winner and the sooner his accusers accept this, the easier it will be to cope with the current reality of things.
