maidana32434By Sotoman: Throughout the past few months we have been spoiled with great boxing thrillers, this weekend seems like one of those weekends of boxing that need more talking about.  Lets see!

It looks like Yuriorkis Gamboa will be making his return to the ring under 50 Cents promotional label and looking to help his promoter, after one of 50 cents big name fighters fell in Billy Dib.  Yuriorkis Gamboa looks to score and impressive victory against Darley Perez.  Again, it will be the speed and power of Gamboa that fans will line up to see.  With a win, Gamboa may set himself up for a high profile fight later in the year.

Prediction: Gamboa via KO

Lara/Angulo:  This will be the cat and mouse game. Erislandy Lara will look to exercise his speed and boxing skills to out maneuver, the bigger hard punching Alfredo Angulo.  Lara must really come out of his shell and make his fights more exciting, in order to grow the fan base.  His last few fights have been putting fans a little under the weather.  Lara does not have a fan friendly style, so picking the always-exciting Angulo, I hope will be a change in his game plan.  Angulo looks to cut the ring and take care of Lara with his heavy hands and determination.

Prediction: Lara via Split D.

Chad Dawson/ Adonis Stevenson: This is a who will impose there will fight.  Chad Dawson must do what he does best, box.  With his last few performances not being consistent, he must come out and truly dominate this fight in order to remain relevant and an interesting opponent.  Adonis Stevenson lacks in boxing skills and consistently is in search of the big punches.  If he could somehow find a way to catch Dawson, he can make it an early night.

Prediction: Adonis Stevenson, late KO ( based on last few Dawson fights)

Maidana/Lopez:  This will be slow early, but I predict a barn burner somewhere between the 3-6 rounds.  This fight will be a short night for Lopez if he lets go his hands with Marcos Maidana. Josesito Lopez’s only chance is to box and move.  Maidana has a great chin and looks to given one to give 3 more back.  This will be the most anticipated fight of the night.

Prediction: Maidana KO

Enjoy the weekend of fights!
