Mayweather-Canelo: Why can’t people just be happy?

mayweather77By Jerrod Green: I’ve come to the conclusion that some people are never happy and will never be satisfied. It ‘s like people complain just to complain. The September 14th fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) and WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) is great fight for the sport of boxing.

I like both fighters. Floyd is a legend and Canelo a young and strong charismatic Mexican champ. Both fighters are undefeated and you have the best at 147 fighting the best at 154, but some people are still complaining. You here stuff like “Canelo had to drop 2 pounds” or “Mayweather is still not fighting Manny Pacquiao.”

Come on, really? It’ s like the saying from Dark Knight, “you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain!” People will always hate like Kanye West says in the song Bring me down. If Floyd beats Canelo, it’ll be a load of excuses like he was too young or he had to drop 2 pounds, even though he will likely rehydrate back up.

Then it will become “Oh, Canelo should fight WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, Pacquiao, Lucas Matthysse and other names an that he’s ducking. Just be happy that this fight was made and commend Golden Boy, Floyd and Canelo for not screwing around and getting this fight done for the fans, but I know you probably won’t.
