Tyson Fury belittles Deontay Wilder

wilder99By Daniel Mcglinchey: Unbeaten Heavyweight Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) took to his social media site this afternoon to voice his opinions on American Heavyweight Deontay Wilder (28-0 28 KO’s). He posted the following comments:

“Bronze Bomber (Deontay Wilder) is sh** & will not make a top level fighter coz when your 29/28ko & Audley Harrison is your best name when he was 43… Joke! So sick of this sh*t fight your own way up the boxing ladder fight Johnson. What do i gain from this? Very little reward.”

I can completely see where Tyson Fury is coming from, Tyson is one fight away from being mandatory for a world title fight why would he take a step down to face the limited Wilder?

There are rumors that if he faces Wilder and wins, he will get a shot at the titles next, but the Klitschko brothers have been avoiding him for a while so if he becomes mandatory they won’t have a choice but to step in the ring with him. It will be a nice change to see the brothers fighting a live opponent rather than a Dereck Chisora, Francesco Pianeta or a Tony Thompson.

As for Deontay Wilder, he is simply calling out Fury for publicity. He knows Tyson is on the verge of a title shot and a fight with Wilder now just wouldn’t make sense. However, as we’ve seen in the past if Tyson had of called his bluff and accepted his challenge Deontay’s team would of probably ran in the opposite direction, as we seen in the past when Bryant Jennings accepted Deontay’s proposal.

Tyson Fury’s opponents to date are leagues above Deontay Wilder’s. Tyson has faced world title challengers, a former 2 time world champion and has captured pretty much every title in Britain against some tough fighters. Deontay has fought low level journeyman and a washed up Audley Harrison who even in his prime was a domestic level fighter at best.

Meanwhile Tyson Fury’s & Kubrat Pulev’s teams are set to meet on the 28th of this month to negotiate purse bids for the IBF final eliminator, Kubrat Pulevs European title will also be on the line if the fight is made.
