Prediction: Mayweather to make easy work of Guerrero

Robert Guerrero(Photo credit: Naoki Fakuda) By Onaps: Unbeaten Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) is once again the center of the boxing world this Saturday in his title defense against Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In my opinion, “Money” will make easy work of “The Ghost.” Guerrero doesn’t possess the skill set to even compete with Mayweather. Floyd is faster, quicker, smarter, stronger and is light years ahead of Robert skill wise. So, if The Ghost can’t do it, who can? Here is my list of fighters today who Mayweather may be tested by:

No. 5 on my list is Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez. This may be a fight that Floyd might want to jump all over. Winning the linear middleweight title would be a huge be a huge legacy boost and may be an easy fight for Floyd. I would pick money to out point Marvilla in a 8-4, 9-3 type fight.

No. 4 on my list is Amir Khan. Khan is chinny but possesses tremendous skills and if he can avoid the check left hook and counter right, would compete with Floyd the entire fight. Khan is quick, long and has boxing ability. That being said, money stops Amir in 8 or 9 rds.

No. 3 on the list is Adrian Broner. Broner is an offensive clone of Floyd, but, his defense is nowhere on the same level. That is why I would pick money to easily beat Broner on points.

No. 2 on my list is Tim Bradley. This would be an interesting scrap. Bradley has the skills, strength and determination to compete with Mayweather from Bell to bell. Bradley is also a bigger man than Floyd. I see Mayweather winning a right decision in an ultra competitive contest.

Lastly, WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez makes the list. With his size, youth and tremendous combination punching, I am giving Canelo a real shot at an upset. With this fight timing is everything. If it were to take place in the next 16 months, I have money winning a close, possibly split decision. Any further down the road, I see Mayweather slipping a hit and Canelo gaining enough seasoning to spring the upset.
