Malignaggi: I’ll p*** on Broner if I drop him

malignaggi65By Allan Fox: WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7 KO’s) is talking about taking a leak on challenger Adrien Broner (26-0, 22 KO’s) next month if he succeeds in knocking the 23-year-old down in their fight on June 22nd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It’s not likely the light hitting Malignaggi will drop Broner. Indeed, it’s more likely to be the other way around with the harder hitting Broner putting Malignaggi down if he connects with a big shot.

Malignaggi said to Worldstarhiphop.com “I’ll p*** on you. Don’t let me drop you because I will lift up my skirt and p*** on you. I promise you that….He’s not very created…he sounds like he’s retarded. He rehearses all his stuff, all his material.”

The thing with this fight is it’s hard to predict with any degree of accuracy who will win this fight for a number of reasons. Broner is moving up in weight two divisions in this fight and he won’t be enjoying his usual weight advantage.

Broner’s not nearly as experienced as Malignaggi due to his promoters at Golden Boy Promotions having taken it easy with him when matching him throughout his five-year career with the exception of his fight with Daniel Ponce De Leon two years ago. Many people feel that Broner lost that fight. Because of him moving up in weight and facing a guy his own size, Broner’s power might not have the same effect on Malignaggi that it has on Broner’s smaller opponents. But most importantly, Malignaggi isn’t someone that is easy to hit. He jabs a lot, moves frequently and stays on the outside for the most part. This isn’t an opponent that Broner can count on being right in front of him so that he can easily get him out of there.

Malignaggi is going to be fighting defensively until he finds out what Broner’s got in terms of power. If it’s not too much for him to worry about, Malignaggi will then start to press the attack and make Broner pay.

A knockout isn’t impossibility for Malignaggi but it’s still hard to picture him doing that because it’s been a while since he knocked anyone down.
