Groves’ promoter Eddie Hearn feels that it would be an easy fight to put together between Groves and Froch should Froch get past Kessler on Saturday night.

However, it’ll be up to Froch whether he’s agreeable to fighting Groves, and right now it looks like Froch wants no part of him.

Groves said to Sky Sports “I’m number two with the WBA…I’m very close to being the mandatory…That could mean I could fight the winner of these two.”

Groves, #1 WBO, #2 WBA, #3 WBC, #7 IBF, probably won’t get the chance to fight Froch if he comes out as the winner because he recently said he wasn’t interested in facing Groves or WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly, as he doesn’t see them on his level.

It’s not a very good excuse because Froch recently fought Yusaf Mack, who also wasn’t on his level and Froch had no problems taking that fight. If it was all about Froch wanting to fight only guys on his own level then he should be trying to fight the likes of Andre Ward and the Dirrell brothers instead of fighting Mack, wouldn’t you say?

Groves has to take care of Noe Gonzalez Alcoba (30-2, 22 KO’s) this Saturday night for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental super middleweight title on the undercard of the Froch-Kessler fight at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

Eddie Hearn has put this fight as the co-feature no doubt to try and drum interest in Groves fighting Froch at some point in the future because the fight is clearly not as competitive as the fight that comes before it between WBC Silver light heavyweight champion Tony Bellew vs. Isaac Chilemba. That’s a much better fight that promises to be competitive. Groves-Alcoba is a just a flat out mismatch from the word go.

I think Groves should forget all about trying to get a fight with Froch because I think Froch would have to be dragged kicking and screaming into a fight with Groves because he simply doesn’t fancy this match-up for some reason.
