Winning is the game and Tyson Fury is the name

fury54By Adam Mccoy: I understand in boxing critics are everywhere. A fighter could have a near perfect fight winning every round in the process but still has to answer his critics after the fight. Maybe he didn’t stick to the jab enough? He got caught and his legs buckled slightly so he now may have a glass chin. It all gets ridiculous if you ask me. I’d like to take this time to talk about heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s).

Tyson is a boy compared to the vast majority of heavyweights. He’s 24 years old and sometimes seems to be punching above his weight slightly. Admittedly, yes, if Tyson stepped in the ring right now with Wladimir Klitschko (59-3 50Ko), I don’t think it would end well for Fury. However, what is the shame is Tyson fighting Wladimir and losing? I see a lot of people saying Tyson will get destroyed if he faces either of the Klitschko brothers and, yes, maybe he would but what’s the problem. If he beats Kubrat Pulev (17-0 9Ko) which is not impossible then Tyson will be mandatory challenger. He will have worked his way up to mandatory contender to face Wladmir by the time he’s 25.

What Tyson has achieved is incredible in such a short space of time and he deserves praise not critics. Tyson got knocked down by a blown up cruiserweight. I understand that however heavyweight boxing anyone can knock anyone down. Tony Thompson showed that against David Price and it happens regularly in this division. The fact is Tyson got back up and brutally knocked out Steve Cunningham shows the kind of guy he is. As long as Tyson Fury is winning fights he doesn’t deserve critics because hes still young yet hes doing things older fighters haven’t done yet. Yes, Deontay Wilder that was aimed at you. Speaking of Deontay, what gives him the right to call out Tyson Fury live on TV. It’s obvious that was just to look a big man because face it Tyson is going places and your not and he’s not going to postpone a final eliminator to face a man fresh off knocking out Audley Harrison.

Back to the opening paragraph; we need critics in boxing but only deserved criticism. Amir Khan deserved criticism for getting knocked out twice and losing a third. He’s back and in my opinion looked decent Saturday night. But because of his past hes stuck with critics for the rest of his career. However, Tyson is undefeated and still knocking people out. He might have a sloppy performance here and there, he might have tasted canvas but how many heavyweights haven’t? Tyson will beat Kubrat Pulev. Will he beat Wladimir? I really doubt it but the fact is he got the shot and will have gave it his all and that’s what its all about.
